Dithuso Confidence Monare

Dithuso Confidence Monare, is a Social Work Manager in the Department of Social Development and responsible for the HIV and AIDS sub-programme in the Free State Province. The current position in the Department of Social Development (Free State) has provided her with sufficient experience and knowledge of management within the Public Service, this includes inter alia, management of performance, development of strategic plans, monitoring and evaluation, implementation plans, project management, human resources management and administrative support, etc.

This position has also provided her with knowledge, experience and skills of development of policies and management of community and social development programmes. A major part of her work involves management of NGO’s/ NPO’s and the funding process there-of. She has also participated largely in the resolution of conflicts amongst members of funded NGO’s/ NPO’s. This task has improved her people management and communication skills significantly.

She is currently the Chairperson of the School Governing Body at Kruitberg School which is situated in Bloemfontein, Free State. She is also the Chairperson of the Kopanang Bus Trust, a body attached to the Kruitberg school. She has been chairperson of both the above mentioned for 3 successive terms (each term is 3 years).

She is a member of the board of directors for the St Nicholas Bana Pele, which is situated in Bloemfontein, Free State. She is a Council member of the St. Margarets Anglican Church which is also situated in Bloemfontein.

Dithuso has participated in different forums:
- Elective assembly: a body that was tasked with the responsibility of the election of the Bishop for the Free State Diocese of the Anglican Church.
- She is a chairperson of the Provincial Action Committee for Children affected by HIV and AIDS (PACCA) in the Free State
