Stephen was born in Nairobi, Kenya and educated at Kearsney College and Alexander High in Natal.
He obtained a BSc (Civil Engineering) in 1980 from the University of Natal and has 28 years experience in both the Construction and Consulting fields of engineering.
He completed a number of projects in the North West in the 1990's centered on the development of services in the rural communities and he initiated empowerment and capacity building programmes within these communities. This was the start of Stephen's interest in community work.
Stephen is the Programme Manager of Tapologo with involvement from 1998. He is the Chairperson of the North West Hospice Association.
Stephen's "therapy" is golf and he has two beautiful daughters.
