
She is a passionate leader with more than a decade’s experience in management of international NGOs in Africa. She has executed global clinical research programmes for 14 countries in Europe, Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa. In SA she was executive director of the Topsy Foundation and technical advisor and senior operations manager for mothers2mothers, before taking the reins at HPCA in August 2019.

Bulelani holds Master in Management (Public and Development Management) from Wits, Honours Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce from Unisa and Comprehensive Diploma in Nursing from Transkei College of Nursing. He is studying towards DrPH in Global Health Leadership with Indiana University in USA. He is currently employed at The Aurum Institute as Executive Fellow in the Office of the CEO undergoing Advance Executive Development. He was the Managing Director for Health Systems Division and Principal Investigator for CDC grants. He oversaw implementation of the following projects among other things, Care and Treatment, Community HIV Testing, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision, Prevention for Key Populations and Priority Populations, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Surveillance Studies for Key Populations. These projects were funded by US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through Centres for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
He is a Public Health Specialist with more 18 years’ experience in managing HIV and AIDS and TB prevention, care and treatment programmes. He has worked in the public, private and the not for profit sectors. His passion is on increasing access to health care services and improving quality of health care services. His strengths include programme and project management, leadership and governance, operational management, financial management, human resources management, stakeholder management. He is also serves as a board member of Yoga4Alex and Centre for HIV and AIDS Prevention Studies (CHAPS).

He obtained a BSc (Civil Engineering) in 1980 from the University of Natal and has 28 years experience in both the Construction and Consulting fields of engineering.
He completed a number of projects in the North West in the 1990’s centered on the development of services in the rural communities and he initiated empowerment and capacity building programmes within these communities. This was the start of Stephen’s interest in community work.
Stephen is the Programme Manager of Tapologo with involvement from 1998. He is the Chairperson of the North West Hospice Association.
Stephen’s “therapy” is golf and he has two beautiful daughters.

This position has also provided her with knowledge, experience and skills of development of policies and management of community and social development programmes. A major part of her work involves management of NGO’s/ NPO’s and the funding process there-of. She has also participated largely in the resolution of conflicts amongst members of funded NGO’s/ NPO’s. This task has improved her people management and communication skills significantly.
She is currently the Chairperson of the School Governing Body at Kruitberg School which is situated in Bloemfontein, Free State. She is also the Chairperson of the Kopanang Bus Trust, a body attached to the Kruitberg school. She has been chairperson of both the above mentioned for 3 successive terms (each term is 3 years).
She is a member of the board of directors for the St Nicholas Bana Pele, which is situated in Bloemfontein, Free State. She is a Council member of the St. Margarets Anglican Church which is also situated in Bloemfontein.
Dithuso has participated in different forums:
– Elective assembly: a body that was tasked with the responsibility of the election of the Bishop for the Free State Diocese of the Anglican Church.
– She is a chairperson of the Provincial Action Committee for Children affected by HIV and AIDS (PACCA) in the Free State

He forged a passion for primary and rural health care during an 8-year stint as the Clinical Manager of Madwaleni Hospital in the Eastern Cape. Joining Wits in 2011, he now chairs the Curriculum Review Committee responsible for the final two years of the Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP), as well as tasked with the directorship of the Wits Nelson Mandela Fidel Castro (NMFC) Collaboration Programme. He supervises the training and research-related activities of students within the GEMP, Clinical Associate, Public Health and Health Systems Sciences programmes, at an undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Dr Cooke is an examiner for the Fellowship of the College of Family Physicians (FCFP) within the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
He is a member of the NMFC National Curriculum Working Group, and serves on the NMFC Ministerial Task Team. He is a Director of the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa. His personal interests include running ultra-marathons.

Obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and a Certificate in Family Planning. Worked in South Africa since 1979 as a GP, Obstetrician and an assistant for gynaecology until the birth of my son. I joined the Highway Hospice in 1997. Obtained a Diploma in Palliative Medicine in Wales, M.Phil. in Palliative Medicine at UCT, the Doctor’s Dispensing Course in 2005 and Clinical HIV Management Course in 2005.
Presently employed by Highway Hospice as Medical Director, Deputy CEO and also head of Education. Chairperson of HAKZN Board from 2015. Also working in the Department of Family Medicine in the Nelson Mandela Medical School as Senior lecturer in palliative medicine for undergraduate students and registrars studying for their Masters in Family Medicine who are doing palliative medicine as a module. External examiner in Palliative Medicine for UCT, Diploma Exams 2004 -2010 and 2015.

In the year 2001, I was elected chairperson of Nightingale Hospice for a period of 4 years. In 2005, I was than appointed as Program Manager at Nightingale Hospice to date.
I than decided to study the Project Management Certificate Course and completed it in 2007 through The Genesis Group. I have participated in a number of workshops, conferences and trainings of HPCA regarding palliative care and shared whatever experiences I have encountered to both the Staff and the Governing Board. I have also served for a period of 2 years as a Paediatric Palliative Care representative, from2009 to 2015 elected as regional chairperson and re-elected 2019 as well currently being the advocacy representative for the Northern Cape.
I am a committed, caring and friendly person with a great passion for helping people of all ages. I have previous experience in supporting a variety of patients ranging from children to adults and the elderly affected by and recovering from injuries and movement disorders. I have excellent communications skills which have enabled me to build strong relationships with government and other Stakeholders in the political environment. I have previously managed a number of projects to a successful outcome, and I have the excellent ability to supervise, manage and motivate other team members.

Financial reporting, financial and operational analysis, forecasting, implementation of internal controls and consolidations has been her focus area and she has developed a keen interest in ensuring a financially sustainable environment. Her analytical ability and systematic approach enables her to identify problems areas, the root cause and recommend tangible solutions.
Wilmy’s hobbies includes arts & crafts and outdoor activities.

Palliative Care is very important to Danielle and she has spent the last 8 years advocating and raising funds for Hospice and Palliative Care at her local Hospice in Ladybrand, Free state, where she was the Operations Manager for the past 5years and is now on the Governing Board.
Danielle also heads the Free state Hospice Palliative Care Association as Chairperson.

She started her career in community development after completing her Early Childhood Development Diploma and spending time as a Kumon Franchisee and assisting her place of worship, First City Baptist Church, with securing PEPFAR funding for their grassroots HIV AIDS NPO. She then felt the call to shift her fulltime focus to non-governmental organisation management.
She spent 7 years in middle management as a Grants Compliance Officer and Technical Assistant for Organisational Change at Sophumelela Centre. She moved on to become the General Manager in July 2012. She joined St Bernard’s Hospice as their CEO in 2016.
She is passionate about advocating for Palliative Care as a basic human right. She has a solution-oriented mind set to daily problems. She enjoys finding tools that can facilitate growth and performance, and thrives on providing relevant and tangible help to others.
